St. Joseph’s Home Legacy of Care Fund

In 2022 the Sisters of St. Francis of the Immaculate Conception established the St. Joseph's Home Legacy of Care Fund at the Community Foundation upon the closure of St. Joseph's Home in Springfield, Illinois. The purpose of the St. Joseph's Home Legacy of Care Fund is to provide financial support to programs and services that offer care to seniors who reside in Cass, Christian, Logan, Macoupin, Menard, Morgan, Montgomery, and/or Sangamon County.

Contact Ministries $30,000 Rent and utility assistance for seniors through the Rapid Rehousing program. This program assists seniors with rent and utilities.
Grace Lutheran Food Pantry $15,000 Non-perishable and fresh foods and personal hygiene items to individuals in need.
Hearts United Association $25,000 Rent and utility assistance; emergency heating and cooling equipment; gasoline vouchers for medical or mental health appointments; emergency food gift cards; assistance with non-narcotic emergency medications for seniors; and assistance with financing minor home safety repairs.
Illinois Presbyterian Home Communities $50,000 Support the cost-of-living for seniors in assisted living, who have limited financial resources so that they can stay in their homes.
Springfield Art Association $20,000 Support for four sessions of Opening Minds Through Art (OMA), a program specifically designed for Alzheimer’s and dementia patients over a 12-month period.
St. Martin DePorres $50,000 Food and hygiene items for seniors.
