American Red Cross Illinois Capital Area Chapter $15,000 Support the Meals on Wheels program to continue to offer special dietary meals at little or no cost to seniors.
Catholic Charities $10,000 Provide emergency financial assistance to people 55 years of age or older.
Comfort Living And Associates $5,400 Strengthen its existing Heating and Cooling Assistance Program.
Contact Ministries $15,000 Provide prescription assistance to clients 55 years old and over who live in Sangamon County.
First Presbyterian Church Board of Deacons $4,000 Provide funding for Fifty-Five Plus Program, established in 2013 with KDO funds, to make low-fat, low-sodium, low-sugar and whole grain items available for seniors.
Greater All Nations Tabernacle Church $4,900 Enhance the senior presentations. The funds will be used to purchase food for senior meals.
Habitat for Humanity of Sangamon County $21,700 Provide funding for two programs: (1) Wheelchair ramp installation will help low income disabled seniors; and (2) A Brush with Kindness to help with minor exterior home repairs.
Loami Area Community Pantry $5,000 Purchase items requested by seniors which are not routinely available at the food pantry.
One Hope United Foster Grandparent Program $7,500 Support the Foster Grandparent Program which offers senior citizens the opportunity to receive financial assistance for serving as mentors for youth with special needs.
Senior Services of Central Illinois — Food/Wellness $20,000 To provide (1) food for congregate and home-delivered meals served in the Daily Bread senior nutrition program; (2) emerging/emergency needs; (3) senior fitness/wellness; and (4) mechanical repairs and bodywork for our aging fleet of Senior Transport vans.
Senior Services of Central Illinois — Senior Olympics $2,500Start-up funds for the administrative and other costs for assuming responsibilities for the management, staffing, budgeting, equipment provision, officiating, and all other duties associated with the operation of the Illinois Senior Olympics.
Springfield Municipal Opera Association $4,000 For the Senior Bus Program for 4 Senior Nights, allowing seniors to enjoy shows and the Muni experience. In addition to the bus ride and ticket, they receive a drink/popcorn and a meet and greet with the cast.
The Jewish Federation $2,500 Assist with purchase of annual bulk staples including meats and poultry, frozen items, rice, pasta and flour for its lunch program which serves Springfield area seniors a hot and nutritious meal.
The Parent Place $2,500 Support to Relatives as Parents Network (RAPN) program for grandparents raising grandchildren.
