Hosted by the Community Foundation for the Land of Lincoln in partnership with United Way of Central Illinois, the COVID-19 Response Fund will provide resources to local nonprofit organizations in response to coronavirus in our region.
The Community Foundation and United Way have seeded the fund with $50,000. The Fund is designed to complement the work of public health officials and expand local capacity to address all aspects of the outbreak as efficiently as possible.
Grants will be administered by the Community Foundation in partnership with the United Way and in close collaboration with other partners. Together, we will proactively identify potential grant recipients, solicit guidance on potential recipients from community advisors, and recommend final grants.
The Fund will not be able to provide grants to individuals. However, it will support community-based organizations that have experience providing essential services and support to local residents.
Funds will be released on a rolling basis as needs emerge and fundraising permits. No administrative fee will be applied to the Fund. Any monies remaining in the Fund at the conclusion of these funding decisions will be saved and applied to a future crisis affecting the greater capital region.
It is not the intent of this Fund to be the only vehicle for getting needed resources into the community at this time. Please continue to give to organizations you regularly support, and those that need your help at this crucial time. The Fund has been established to help facilitate getting more targeted resources into the community.
